Pilot Jim Tweto has been killed in a small plane crash shortly after take off.
The 68 year old was the star of the Discovery Channel’s ‘Flying Wild Alaska’ in which Jim’s family-run aviation business was featured.
On Friday morning, Alaska State Troopers reported that Jim was seen taking off in a small plane but failed to climb before crashing.

The Troopers received an SOS activation at 11.48am, which was swiftly followed by a report that the plane had crashed 35 miles northeast of Shaktoolik, Alaska, USA.
It was here that the authorities recovered the bodies of Jim and Shane Reynolds from Idaho, 45, who was a hunting and fishing guide also killed in the crash.
Jim’s daughter Ariel took to Instagram to share a tribute following the news of her father’s death.
She wrote: “I didn’t think anything could hurt this bad.
“And I don’t know why I’m writing this but the news is out so I figured you hear it from me.”
She also posted several photos of her father, including a screenshot of the final text message Jim sent her which read: ‘Faith you just can’t have enough’.
Ariel also paid tribute to Shane who also died alongside her father.
She described Shane as “a wonderful hunting guide and friend of our family” who left behind a wife, Gina, and daughter, Juliet.
Shane’s family have responded to the tragedy by setting up a Gofundme donation page which has so far raised £27,782 ($35,628) to help with expenses.
Donation page organiser, Kelsi Ivanoff, said: “Born and raised in Idaho, Shane followed his dreams of becoming a fishing and hunting guide.
“He has guided for big game and fish in Alaska and across the Pacific Northwest.
“He operated Northwest Fishing Expeditions, and settle in Orofino, Idaho, where he and his wife have raised their daughter.
“Shane left this world doing what he loved from a young age.”
