EastEnders' Melissa Suffield strips to lingerie as she proudly shows off 'saggy mum tum'

Ex-EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield has stripped off for another empowering video shared on Wednesday (January 11).

The 30-year-old is best known for playing the original Lucy Beale on the BBC soap but has now ditched her acting career in favour of becoming a body-positive influencer on social media.

Melissa, who is known as ‘The Confident Mama’ online, can often be found dancing around in skimpy lingerie and posts an array of positive snaps and videos.

Three years after the birth of her son, River, the former soap star took to Instagram to proudly show off her “saggy mum tum” and hit back at trolls who question why she posts this kind of content.

The blonde beauty penned alongside the clip: “Why I do what I do. To show that postpartum isn’t just the fourth trimester. To show that it’s ok to look like you had a baby- you did! To show that mums are still sexy and fun.”

She added: “To show that every body is worthy and can rock lingerie. To show my honest body, no retouching or sucking in poses or clever apps.

“To show you a body that is underrepresented- the saggy mum tum- a body that might look like yours. For all the women who message me to say how much I’m helping them.”

The mum-of-one signed off the empowering post by saying: “And the main reason? BECAUSE I F***ING WELL WANT TO.”

Speaking to Daily Star earlier this year, the influencer revealed that her videos aren’t always met with positive responses from her followers.

Melissa explained that one message she frequently receives is: “You could just do your message without dancing around in your underwear.”

Melissa said that the message “wouldn’t be just as strong” if she made her content while fully clothed.

The star explained: “I would be hiding the very thing I’m talking about, and if I’m talking about my belly, I’m gonna show you my belly,’ do you know what I mean?”

“I’m not like keep a t-shirt on or a jumper to talk about my stomach. That’s weird,” she added.
