Emmerdale fans couldn’t cope as the ITV soap aired a shocking identity twist, with Chloe Harris finally meeting up with her real father.
Her dad’s identity has remained a mystery ever since Chloe appeared on the scene with Kerry working at her house – and it was hinted at that he was a dangerous thug. Fans hazarded plenty of guesses, but it turned out the real truth was staring them in the face all along.
In Thursday’s episode (December 14), Damon Harris was revealed to be Chloe’s dad. He’s also appeared under the alias Harry, seducing Chas and beating Caleb into a pulp after a gun deal gone wrong. In shocking scenes, Chloe met up with her estranged father, who told her he had eyes and ears on her the whole time.

He seemed to know every twist and turn going on in his daughter’s life and begged to meet grandson Reuben, while Chloe confessed to her problems with love rat Mackenzie.
“I thought you might be mad at me,” Chloe admitted, as Damon said he’s “proud” of his daughter for going through what she went through with Reuben’s meningitis. She added: “I thought you hated me.”
“I thought you made the wrong decision going off with that gobby Kerry, but you made it, so I left you alone. I’ve had eyes and ears on the ground the whole time,” he told her.
Viewers will now have to wait and see whether Damon could become a permanent fixture in Chloe’s life, and whether she can trust him at all. Some fans even became convinced that he could be instrumental in a Christmas twist which could see Mack killed off in revenge for hurting Damon’s daughter.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – to comment on the shock reveal, one fan penned: “Oooh Harry is Chloe’s dad!” as another agreed: “Omg Chloe’s dad is the one who’s married to Leanne from Corrie in real life!”
Someone else said: “We’ve waited 2 years to find out who Chloe’s dad is now we know Harry/Damon whatever his name is.” Another echoed: “What I heard is that Mack dies and I think Chloe’s dad kills him.”

While somebody else said: “So Harry’s been keeping tabs on Chloe & Reuben. Does Chloe have any idea what her dad is really like & what he’s capable of? Things could get very nasty.”
Someone else was more baffled as they asked: “So he knew Reuben was in hospital but didn’t know Mack chucked her over the cliff?” while another wondered: “So daddy has been spying on her & she doesn’t think it’s as creepy as hell?”
