GMB's Ben Shephard moved from hosting slot in huge format shake-up on ITV show

Good Morning Britain revealed a major presenter change at the start of the week as Ben Shephard was moved from his usual hosting spot.

Handsome Ben normally hosts the ITV daytime show on Thursdays with co-host Susanna Reid and Fridays with Kate Garraway, but things had changed on Monday morning (February 6).

That’s because he was brought into the studio to host the show with Susanna, replacing GMB’s Monday hosts like Richard Madeley.

And the main reason for Ben getting bumped forward to Monday’s show was so that he could meet This Country actress Daisy May Cooper, who was just unmasked as Otter on ITV’s The Masked Singer.

The BAFTA-winning star was revealed as Otter on Saturday’s episode of Masked Singer in a shock double elimination which also saw Knitting unmasked as Claire from Steps.

Daisy has admitted she has a “massive crush” on Tipping Point host Ben and even dedicated her autobiography Don’t Laugh, It’ll Only Encourage Her to him, so it was only fitting she got to meet him in person.

Susanna admitted that it was confusing hosting with Ben on a Monday rather than a Thursday but explained he was here to interview Daisy.

She said: “She’s [Daisy] going to meet you for the very first time! Which is why you’re here on a Monday, confusing everybody thinking it’s a Thursday.”

Ben joked it felt like meeting Daisy on GMB felt rather like going on a “public Tinder date”.

He said: “I feel like the most public Tinder date ever, this,” leaving Susanna looking shocked and excited in equal measure.

Ben joked his wife Annie wouldn’t find out about the interview, or ‘date’, as she was taking their two boys to school.

Asked by Susanna if his wife knew, Ben replied: “She doesn’t. She’ll be busy trying to get the boys to school, don’t worry about that.”
