Hollyoaks double exit heartbreak as two stars leave Channel 4 soap with fans left gutted

Hollyoaks fans were left “gutted” as two characters left the village for the good in emotional scenes.

Fans of the Channel 4 soap bid farewell to Zara Morgan (Kelly Condron) and Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) in the wake of the heist.

The crime took place earlier this week and was devised by a desperate Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) who needs cash to sabe the market.

Grace Black (Tamara Wall) offered her assistance with Zara getting involved in the scheme, despite her reservations.

Damon was later roped in as the getaway driver.

Things didn’t go to plan when the trio got trapped in the van after Cindy failed to take her bipolar medication.

Grace took the fall for the crime when the police showed up and she was later thrown in a prison cell.

The others managed to get away with it but Zara later decision to grab life and pack up her stuff and headed for a new life in Borneo.

Meanwhile, Damon decided to chase the dream he had with his late best pal Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward) about opening a bar in New York.

He booked a flight to the states and later shared an emotional farewell with Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams).

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Damon and Zara’s exits were lovely, but they’ll be missed!”

Another added: “We’re absolutely gutted to lose Zara and Damon! A huge loss to #Hollyoaks as two of our favourites. Best of luck to Kelly and Jacob with whatever’s next for them.”

A third person posted: “Goodbye Zara and Damon you will be missed so much.”

Kelly Condron, who previously starred as Zara for six years in the late nineties and early noughties, reprised her role two years ago as part of Luke Morgan’s (Gary Lucy) death storyline.

Jacob Roberts made his debut as Damon in 2017 and has been involved in some gripping storylines over the years.

Both stars recorded goodbye videos which were posted on Hollyoaks’ official Instagram account.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first-look episodes on E4 at 7pm
