Horror movie dubbed ‘the world’s scariest’ leaves film-goers in shock and awe

Horror movie fans have been left in shock at watching the “world’s scariest film” which has left some movie viewers “vomiting everywhere”, but others said they “f****** loved it”.

The Canadian film, entitled Skinamarink first debuted last year in two UK cinemas before appearing more widely.

A synopsis for the film read: “Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.”

A description further explains: “They play well-worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the silence of the house and distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation,” adding: “All the while in the hopes that eventually some grown-ups will come to rescue them.

“However, after a while it becomes clear that something is watching over them.”

The movie, directed by Kyle Edward Ball, was shot over a seven-day period in 2021 on a reported £15,000 cowdfunded budget, and throws up similarities to the effect of The Blair Witch Project from 1999, which was a seriously disturbing piece of film-making.

It may be scary and fans are throwing up, but it’s just a film, surely?
