Greg James is the host of Channel 4’s new reality show Rise and Fail.
The presenter is best known for being a Radio 1 DJ as well as an author and podcast co-host.
He will introduce viewers to 16 contestants who will battle it out for the prize fund, which can be up to a jaw-dropping £100,000.

Away from the spotlight, Greg is married to author and journalist Bella Mackie.
Before Rise and Fall take to television screens across the nation, Daily Star has taken a look inside Greg’s life.
Near-death experience
The TV star nearly died in his early childhood due to a rare blood disorder which he underwent three blood transfusions.
The condition can now be cured with drugs, but Greg grew up a poorly child.
When Lewisham and Greewich NHS Trust Choir became Christmas Number One back in 2015, Greg revealed: “I know my mum and dad are greatly appreciative of the work that Lewisham hospital did for me because 30 years ago I came home quite a poorly baby and I was saved by some blood transfusions thanks to the people at Lewisham hospital.
“It’s a pleasure to announce that this is the official Number One of 2015.”
F-bomb apology
Greg was forced to apologise to Radio 1 listeners back in May 2020 after a guest dropped the F-bomb live on air.
The presenter was hosting his breakfast show when a caller let slip the bad language in a major blunder.
The listener explained his job was making ventilators amid the coronavirus lockdown, and Greg thanked him for the incredible work he’s doing during the pandemic.
However things turned awkward when his co-workers were heard “arguing” in the background of the phone call.
Greg said jokingly: “Tell them to shut up…”
The F-bomb was heard and the caller laughed nervously and said: “Sorry they’re having an argument in the background.”
Greg quickly apologised for the rude language, saying: “I think we may have just heard a bad word so apologies for that.”
The host continued with the interview before apologising again later in the show.
Famous wife
Greg tied the knot with author and journalist Bella Mackie in September 2018.
Bella proposed to Greg earlier in the year and he “immediately” said yes.
He shared sweet snaps from their big day on Instagram alongside the caption: “Bella and I got married and it was the most incredible day of my life. I think it was up there for her too.
“She is the best thing ever and I feel like I might actually burst with happiness.”
Children
Earlier this year, Greg wrote in an article that he was fed up of people asking him and wife Bella whether they are going to have any kids.
He opened up about how Bella once wrote about her miscarriage in an article, and ever since people have tried to justify firing him children-related questions.
Writing in his i paper column, Greg wrote: “So, let me say it once and for all: we don’t know. We might have kids. We might not. We might not be able to.
“Whatever happens, it will have absolutely no bearing on your life whatsoever, so please don’t worry about it. It’s a thing for us to work out.”
New Job
Greg has recently been named as host of brand-new Channel 4 reality show Rise and Fall.
The series, from the makers of BBC’s The Traitors, will see 16 members of the public from all walks of life and ages begin the game as equals but soon find themselves either in a position of power as a “ruler” or as part of the powerless as a “grafter”.
At the end of the game, only one ruler will have the chance of winning the prize fund.
