Ranvir Singh has left one of her Good Morning Britain co-stars shocked after making a surprising musical revelation.
Singh, 46, returned on Thursday (December 28) to host the ITV morning news programme with Richard Madeley. During the show’s main headlines, Ranvir and Richard passed over presenting duties to fellow star Maverine Cole, who gave an overview of the news stories of the day.
One of the stories Maverine covered was the gradual rise in the sale of vinyls. As Cole explained, vinyl records have become more popular in the UK, with weekly sales having soared to their highest levels since 1990.

As the retro records made a comeback, Maverine added that hitmaker Taylor Swift heavily contributed to the rise in numbers. This is down to a push by Taylor to diversify her music platforms, which in turn pushed vinyl sales of three of her re-recorded albums into the top 10 of the vinyl album charts.
But as Maverine ended her segment, she seemed stunned as Ranvir took over and made her startling admission. After asking Richard what his first vinyl record was, to which he responded The Beatles’ single Help, Ranvir revealed she had never owned a vinyl before.
“Fantastic, cause I’ve never ever bought a vinyl record in my life,” Ranvir said. Maverine, who was clearly taken aback at the admission, was stunned as she asked: “Are you… are you serious?”
Singh hit back and insisted: “No I’ve never! I’ve never needed one!” Cole, who was still in shock, erupted into laughter as she heard Ranvir’s reluctance to buy a record, before she recalled her own musical story.
“I gave my brothers my pocket money to go and get me Ant Rap by Adam and the Ants,” Cole admitted. “That was my first record, a little 7-inch single, I was very proud!”
However, despite her blunder in not owning a vinyl, Ranvir did reveal she had bought a cassette tape of ‘Especially for You’ from legendary singer Kylie Minogue. She added that having attended ITV’s Audience with Kylie at the Royal Albert Hall, she felt nostalgic as she described Kylie as “being around forever”.
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
