Amy’s new book, The Last Word, has seen her open up about her daughter from an insider’s point of view – and she had a lot to say.
Speaking to The Sun, Amy reflected on writing about Katie’s relationships in the public eye, and said “patterns began to emerge” as she spoke of her daughter’s exes.
She said: “I think it’s fair to say from my point of view that Dane Bowers and Peter Andre were men who liked to be in control and prioritised furthering their own careers.”
Amy stated she felt the pair used their relationship with Katie “for their own gains”.
Looking at Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler, she claimed they “came along when Kate was at her lowest ebb”, adding: “Kieran and Carl [Woods] are also men who crave fame and have used Kate as a springboard for their social media feeds.”
Katie has long had relationships in the public eye which has seen her go through many ups and downs.
The TV personality had had both marriages and long term romances at the centre of her life, with Pete, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler all seeing her down the aisle.
Carl and Katie had their plans to walk down the aisle together, but things appear to have fizzled out after months of speculation.
Katie confirmed that her relationship had come to a final close earlier this month after saying she’s had “so much s**t thrown at me” and said she was single now.
Earlier this week Carl was seen with a mystery blonde as he jetted to Las Vegas shortly after the pair ended their romance.
Katie’s mum has continued to dissect her relationships in her new book.
She added to The Sun: “Of course it takes two to tango in every relationship and I’m not for a moment suggesting things are plain sailing with my daughter.”
All proceeds from the sale of The Last Word is going to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, The Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals and St Barnabas House Hospice, Worthing.
