Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen lives in 'most haunted home ever' with exorcisms and priests

Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen- has revealed he was told his house was “haunted”.

The TV icon chatted exclusively to the Daily Star about his impressive Grade II listed home in the Cotswolds, which is decorated fabulously.

Laurence, 58, said: “It’s very historically credited as being haunted but I’ve never seen anything which leads me to expect that my ghosts are starstruck and think ‘Oh no, it’s him, I can’t.’

“And the others are going ‘No, go on, get an autograph’.

“Or they’re just put off by my wallpaper choices. Forget exorcisms, just call me in to redecorate,” he joked.

This comes after the Help! My House is Haunted paranormal team visited LLB’s stunning 17th-century manor and revealed its grisly past.

Though Laurence doesn’t “make much of the supernatural stuff”, he did share what the past tenants thought of the home.

He continued: “I didn’t think a lot of the supernatural stuff but I said to the paranormal team ‘If you find anything, no matter how evil you think it may be, I’m not getting rid of it, it’s part of the house. If there is a presence here, it’s been here far longer than we have so I think the polite thing to do is leave it where it is’.

“Though when we moved in we did a show called To The Manor Bowen and it was on all over the world.

“It was played in Australia and we got contacted by a family who rented the house a year before we bought it and they said ‘How can you live there? It was the most haunted house we’d ever been in. We never slept!’

Laurence added: “They had priests in and exorcists in but I think you have to be in the right frame of mind to be haunted and obviously we’re not.”

“Before we decorated the house and moved in 15 years ago it was empty and painted beige so, of course, it looked haunted but the minute we got our wallpapers on the walls it was a fun family home.”

Laurence lives with his wife Jackie, their two daughters and their partners, and two young grandchildren.
