As for makeup, Martine rocked a full face of glam including 2000s-inspired thin brows and a slick of pink gloss on her lips.

In the caption, Martine reflected on her award win back in 2011, writing: “It’s still one of my proudest achievements in my life and an honour I truly cherish, as I don’t think I’ve ever given, or sacrificed so much for a role in my life.

“I’d always felt an affinity with the part and in some ways, it felt like the role was written for me…Although it clearly wasn’t!

Fans were left gushing over her throwback snap

“But, I wanted to be the most authentic Eliza Doolittle ever! It was my dream role to play in the theatre,” she added.

“Years later, after various jobs, leaving Eastenders, releasing pop albums and performing live at my own concerts, The stars aligned and the @nationaltheatre & @drurylanetheatre beckoned….. I ADORED performing at them both.”

Martine went on to note how every night performing as Eliza was “a very real and authentic journey.”
