Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were once THE twins on the showbiz scene.
After finding fame at an early age thanks to the hit US sitcom Full House – in which they shared the role of Michelle Tanner from babies into childhood – the pair were everywhere. They’ve starred in many shows, such as Two Of A Kind and So Little Time and have also appeared in lots of films, including Double, Double, Toil And Trouble, Switching Goals and New York Minute.
The sisters were also the darlings of the paparazzi and often popped up in gossip mags. But fast forward a decade or two, and they seem to have fallen off the radar a bit.

So, what have they been up to?
Career change

The twins made their name acting but it seems like ages since we associated the blondes with TV or movies. New York Minute was released in 2004 and was the last big film the pair co-starred in.
Not long after that, the stars, who have also been serious fashionistas, started leaning towards clothes instead of the silver screen. They went on to create a luxury clothing label called The Row, which produces ready-to-wear clothing and accessories.

The duo started out with women’s wear but branched out into men’s fashion a few years later. Then in 2021 it was announced that Mary-Kate and Ashley were also doing children’s clothes.
Today, their wares are stocked in around 140 countries across the globe and the sisters, who are now 37, have cemented themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the fashion world.

The pair are said to be making big bucks with their brand and it isn’t known if and when they might focus on acting again. But in 2012, Elle quoted Ashley as hinting that if she did go back, it might be behind the lens instead of in front of it.
“It doesn’t mean I’m not interested in Hollywood,” she said of stepping back. “I like the way it operates, I like the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever get back in, it’s not going to be as an actress.”

When Mary-Kate has been in the news in recent times, it has tended to be for her love life. The stunning star has previously been romantically linked to photographer Maxwell Snow and David Katzenberg, whose dad is DreamWorks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg.
Then in 2012 she started stepping out with banker Olivier Sarkozy, the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy. They tied the knot in 2015 but it seems that the course of true love did not run smooth, and their divorce was finalised in 2021.
It appeared to be an acrimonious divorce, as in a summons and complaint filed to New York’s Supreme Court on April 17, Mary-Kate wrote: “It was clear my marriage was over… the relationship has broken down irretrievably. My husband has terminated the lease on our New York City residence … without my consent.”
Ashley’s baby

Ashley is thought to have been dating artist Louis Eisner for around five or six years but, like her twin, the discreet star likes to keep her private life to herself so very little is known about their relationship.
Engagement rumours did start to swirl back in 2019 when the star was seen sporting what looked like a sparkler on her ring finger.

Then last year they did tie the knot. Not much has been heard since, but in August this year it was reported that Ashley had quietly welcomed a baby boy.
TMZ said the star gave birth to son Otto in New York earlier this year and that the pair were ecstatic about it.
