Rapper P Diddy has been accused of rape and repeated physical abuse by his former R&B singer girlfriend Cassie.
The music mogul, whose real name is Sean Combs, met Cassie in 2005 and the pair split 13 years laters. It has been claimed that he controlled and abused her for over a decade as well as plying her with drugs, beating her and forcing her to have sex with multiple male prostitutes on camera.
As reported by The New York Times, the lawsuit claims that just before the end of their relationship in 2018, Combs forced his way into her home and raped her. He has vehemently denied all of the “offensive and outrageous allegations.”.

Combs, who goes by P. Diddy, Puffy, or Diddy, was hit with a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court by his former girlfriend Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, who was previously signed to his Bad Boy Records label. The Me & U singer released a statement in Manhattan’s Federal District Court saying she’s finally ready to speak out after years of silence.
“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Cassie said. “With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.
In a comment provided with Complex, attorney Ben Brafman denied the allegations against his client. “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Brafman said. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs, has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’ reputation and seeking a pay day.”
Combs, who also goes by the stage name Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Puffy, or Diddy, is worth an estimated $1 billion after being one of the star figures in the commercialisation of hip-hop in the 1990s. He grew to be one of his generation’s most notable music producers working with names such as Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige.
