Ripped Jake Gyllenhaal steals the show at UFC 285 weigh-in filming 'Road House' scene

Jake Gyllenhaal stole the show at UFC 285 weigh-in while shooting a scene for a revamp of Hollywood blockbuster Road House.

The 42-year-old has got into unbelievable shape for his role, which sees him play a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer in the Florida Keys. He stepped onto the scales, flexed his huge arms, and squeezed his jaw-dropping abdominal muscles, before roaring at the crowd.

If you were not aware of Gyllenhaal or the fact he was shooting a movie, you would have thought this was a standard UFC weigh-in. However, it was anything but.

Flanked by UFC’s iconic ring girls, Gyllenhaal threw his arms in the air and then exchanged a very quick handshake with Dana White. He starred alongside mixed martial artist Jay Hieron, who has also got himself into unbelievable shape for the movie.

The pair stepped into each other’s vicinity and began to trash talk each other. Gyllenhaal then threw a slap at his hulking opponent, triggering a huge melee between the pair. Moments after, Gyllenhaal took to the microphone and threw some huge verbal punches at his rival.

“This fu**er just makes me laugh, cuz he’s a f***ing joke! Let’s go” the Source Code actor shouted into a microphone. “Just give me the belt. Just give it to me. Hand it to me.”

Hieron’s character then responded by calling him a “bum” and then promising to “put him to sleep” in the bout. This a very bold character for Gyllenhall to take on, considering it is a remake of the character the late Patrick Swayze played in the 1989 original film.

“They’re big shoes to fill,” he said to Good Morning America. “But Patrick was a friend when he was here. We made a movie when I was pretty young called Donnie Darko together.”

He added: “He was always so loving and lovely to me. I take that all to heart in playing the role and there are some things I take from him, but generally we made a whole new movie and I’m really excited about it.”
