It’s fair to say the host isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, as he found out for himself when he joined Alan Carr on his beloved talk show, Alan Carr’s Chatty Man. As the broadcaster celebrates his 35th birthday with a bang, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside his messiest feuds to date. Let’s take a look…
In 2021, the TV star opened up about an awkward encounter he had with a major star who has become quite the household name during his time on the TV show. The host alleged that he overheard the big name talking about him behind his back while filming the TV shot a year after appearing on the show.
He told The Sun: “Shortly after The X Factor I went on Chatty Man. There was a guest on the show who is quite a famous actor in this country. I could hear him slagging me off, going, ‘Why is that idiot on the show? He is an absolute this and that’. I let it go, but I always banked it.”
The host revealed that years later he bumped into the actor at the National Television Awards where he finally got to clear the air with them. He continued: “In 2016 and 2017, I was up for the NTA and they asked me to present an award. I go backstage and see this guy walking towards me.
“He puts his hand out and says, ‘Rylan, it’s so nice to meet you. I’m such a big fan. My daughters absolutely love you and they will kill me if I don’t get a photo with you. Please can we have a photo together?’”
The TV star added: “I had a little reality check and thought, ‘I either punch him or do the decent thing for the daughters’. So I said, ‘Yes absolutely’. As I walked away, I turned around and said, ‘Mate, we have met before – on Chatty Man in 2013. Do you remember s**gging me off?’
But this isn’t the only feud the TV star has going on after the former Eurovision Song Contest host hinted he had another secret feud with a “two-faced” TV star. After more than a decade in showbiz, Rylan observed: “People can see through it all now. People can see who are the real ones and can very much see who isn’t.
He told Waitrose and Partners Weekend: “I’ve been in the industry for nearly 11 years, and all I’ve ever been is nice and polite to people. And that’s starting to pay off for me now, because there are people in this industry who aren’t like that. They think they’re something special and the walls are starting to fall.”
In another interview, Rylan derailed how he feels as though several long-running TV presenter’s treat the production runners like “rubbish”. In one particular instance, Rylan overheard a well-known TV star shouting at a runner after they made them the wrong hot drink.
