Though he’s best known as serial stalker Joe Goldberg, Penn Badgley played Phillip Chancellor IV for 10 episodes in the soap when he was only 14 years old, back in 2000.

The star looked totally different in his breakout role, missing his facial hair and with floppy brunette locks falling in a centre part over his face.

Eva Longoria also starred on the show for two years, playing Isabella Braña from 2001 until 2003.

While Tom Selleck found fame in the show in the 70s, sporting a retro look as Jed Andrews on the programme – which first aired in black-and-white.

One former Y&R child star, Alyvia Alyn Lind, had fans open-mouthed as she looked all grown up at her prom – years after playing Faith Newman on the show.

The star, now 15, wowed in a silk green frock with a silver choker around her neck, pouting for the camera with her blonde hair fell down past her shoulders.

It’s also seen plenty of child stars grow up and go on to look totally different from their time on the classic drama.

Launched back in 1973, the show celebrates its 50th anniversary this month – we take a look back at some of the most dramatic transformations over the years.
