BBC Breakfast’s Roger Johnson had a cheeky dig at his co-star Chetan Pathak for “talking a lot” during his sports bulletin.

The swipe came after the presenter delivered a detailed report on the latest sporting events.The morning news show was anchored by Roger, 55, and Rachel Burden, 49, on Sunday (April 28) who were responsible for delivering the day’s headlines before handing over to sports correspondent Chetan.

Chetan covered Chelsea’s defeat to Barcelona in the Women’s Champions League, England Red Roses’ Six Nations triumph, updates from the Madrid Open, and various Premier League matches.

After the segment, Chetan handed back to Roger and Rachel who thanked him for his comprehensive sports update. “That was a comprehensive sports round-up, I think,” Roger remarked.

“Chetan was talking a lot there, wasn’t he? ” Roger quipped. Rachel chuckled at her colleague’s jibe before they moved on to introduce the week’s travel show, reports the Express. In addition to his regular appearances on BBC Breakfast, Chetan has also presented bulletins on other shows such as BBC News at 10, the BBC News Channel, and BBC World.

Chetan kick-started his broadcasting career with the BBC in 2006 when he joined Radio Stoke. Since then, he has worked for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Look North, and Radio 4. Meanwhile, co-star Roger, a Newcastle-under-Lyme educated lad, joined the BBC right after his university days and he has been gracing our TV screens for the past three decades years.

He first appeared on television in 1997 and has been a staple as the Sunday presenter on BBC Breakfast since 2012, winning over viewers with his charm.
