BBC Breakfast favourite Carol Kirkwood shut down her co-star in the studio.
The beloved forecaster, 62, was forced to disappoint host Jon Kay, 54, on Wednesday morning (June 19) right after her weather segment. She had good news for viewers as well as Jon and co-host Sally Nugent.
It seemed those of us Brits who have been battered by the rain over the last few days were, at last, in for some respite. Carol revealed that dryer days are on the way with temperatures rising to 23C in London on Sunday and 24C on Monday and Tuesday.

Other parts of the UK such as Cardiff, she explained, could see sunny days of 25C and later on in the week Brits could see temperatures “a little bit higher than that”.
It was clear the prospect of sun had excited Jon, but he got his hopes up just a little too much. Jumping the gun, he asked if the sunny days were here to stay.
“Okay, I mean that looks lovely, doesn’t it,” he said. “Perfect for lots of people. Does this look like it’s the beginning of a prolonged dryer spell?”
An awkward moment of silence filled the studio and Carol looked a little anxious as she replied: “Not necessarily…” before she burst out laughing. The penny dropped and Jon replied: “Okay, right”.
She added: “Let’s leave it at that for now, shall we?”. “It was clear he saw the funny side as he couldn’t help laughing himself, along with Sally sat next to him on the sofa who couldn’t help giggling.
He then sarcastically quipped: “Service with a smile. I’ll take that as an absolute ‘no it’s not’.” He then proceeded to move on with the rest of the programme.
