BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty snaps as co-hosts leave her out of ‘memo’

BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty failed to mince her words as she told her colleagues off for jokingly leaving her out.

The 49-year-old was back on the famous red sofa with her co-host Ben Thompson on Friday morning (March 29). Discussing the latest bank holiday getaways that people across the nation have planned, the presenters spoke to reporter Katie who was live from Manchester airport.

As Katie finished her segment, Ben said: “Yes Katie, very jealous of those jetting off for their holiday weekend. I know you’ll be at the airport for us going nowhere, but we’ll talk to you a little later, Katie thank you.”

Chiming in, Naga sarcastically replied: “Why are you jealous? You get to be here?

Ben then said: “Oh yeah that’s true. Yeah you’re right.”

Sports presenter Mike Bushell who was also on the sofa at the time then said: “At least Ben got the memo! Katie, us two, Naga?” Mike then pointed out that Ben, Katie and himself were all wearing pink but Naga was not.

Looking over at her outfit, Ben tried to suggsest that Naga’s blouse had pink tones. But as the two men giggled, Naga didn’t see the funny side.

Unimpressed with their stance, Naga jokingly snapped back. She then said if they had “bothered” to call her up to inform her, she would have worn pink too.

The presenter appeared to ‘miss the memo’

Noticing their interaction, one viewer seemed to think they might have worked out why Naga may not have been in a great mood. Heading over to X formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “Wow Naga is grumpy this morning, is it because she’s having to work the Bank Holiday,” followed by a laughing emoji.

The news comes after regular presenter Charlie Stayt was missing in action on both Thursday and Friday morning. Usually Naga presents the show alongside Charlie from Thursdays to Saturdays.

But viewers were left in the dark as to where Charlie was and when he would be returning to the popular morning programme. Heading over to X fans have shared their thoughts on the shake up as Ben stepped in to replace Charlie.

One viewer said: “See Charlie missing this morning xx did he miss his uber?” While another chimed: “Naga is so much more likeable with Ben.”
