BBC Ground Force’s Charlie Dimmock shares bombshell admission on own ‘disaster’ plot

Charlie Dimmock has candidly admitted the somewhat disorganised state of her own garden despite her proficiency in horticulture.

Gaining national fame in 1997 when she joined BBC’s Ground Force, the Hampshire-born Charlie co-helmed the programme for nearly a decade alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh.

She also scored another opportunity on BBC outdoor makeover classic Garden Rescue where she helps bring new life into exhausted yards with colleagues Flo Headlam, Chris Hull and Lee Burkhill. Despite sprucing up numerous gardens on screen, Charlie confessed that her own backyard oftentimes mirrors a “disaster area”.

During a chat with Express.co.uk, the gardening maestro elucidated: “Firstly I have to say my garden isn’t always in tip-top condition.” She associated this with her hectic professional schedule especially during essential gardening times of spring and summer, which barely leaves her sufficient time to maintain her personal green space.

Further sharing her resolution in 2019, she avowed: “I’m going to try and make my garden look good because I’ve been doing this so long, it looks like a disaster area!'” reports the Express. Most recently, fans were overjoyed hearing the news of Charlie gearing up for her comeback in the much anticipated ninth season of Garden Rescue.

The newest season of the popular BBC show is set to debut on Monday, 29 April with a whopping 35 fresh episodes for viewers to feast upon. In the inaugural episode of Garden Rescue’s ninth season, the beloved trio journey to Port Sunlight in Merseyside to spruce up an unkempt cottage garden.

The subsequent episode, shot in the heart of Wales, will feature a quaint Victorian garden belonging to retired archaeologists. Charlie will also make his way to Yateley to construct a Mediterranean wonderland and Biggleswade to create a haven teeming with fun for all the family. Rewinding to 2016, the host opened up about her body image, asserting that she will “never be slim or skinny”.

In a chat with The Independent, she quipped that life was just “too short” to fuss over what others thought of her. One season I’ll be a size 14, then 18, but it’s something I’ve just accepted now. I’m at that age where I think, life is too short.”
