Michael McIntyre’s Big Show left viewers reaching for a tissue when a famous country star surprised her biggest fan.
Saturday night’s episode of the BBC show saw unexpected guest Sarah, take the stage, only to be surprised by America country singer, LeAnn Rimes. Sarah arrived on location believing she’d be visiting a Country Western bar, but found herself in front of the huge studio audience.
Performing LeAnn’s hit song, How Do I Live, was likely to be nerve-wracking for the mum-of-two. And when cheeky comedian Michael McIntyre brought on the songwriter for a duet, Sarah was gobsmacked.

After the performance, LeAnn beamed as Sarah wiped her tears, thanking host, Michael. But it was the Yorkshire woman’s backstory that really tugged on viewers’ heartstrings.
Sarah’s life was turned upside down in 2012 when she discovered she had a brain tumour, and was forced to undergo emergency surgery to remove it. After the horrifying ordeal, Sarah had to learn how to speak again, and still experiences seizures.
Despite the hardship she has faced, brave mother Sarah is a talented chanteuse. Her duet with 41-year-old LeAnn drew the audience to their feet, and to tears.
At home, viewers used social media to share their reactions to the emotional episode. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to admit the family show had made them cry.
One X user wrote: “Cannot lie, that duet with Sarah and @leannrimes brought a tear to my eye… some performance!” Another user responded: “I had to pause it for tears”.
Others acknowledged how Sarah’s story had inspired them, writing: “Just watched last night’s Michael McIntyre’s Big Show …and totally lost it with Sarah’s story…And the surprise of her singing with LeAnn Rimes…
