Beauty and the Geek star says he was ‘destroyed’ by show and ‘fought so hard’

Beauty and the Geek’s Alex Chadley has spilled the beans on his time on the show, revealing he battled ‘so hard’ to reach the final.

The 29 year old confessed that he joined the hit reality show in a bid to step out of his comfort zone and potentially find love. He was paired with beauty Eliza during his stint.

The show brings together ten gorgeous women and ten brainy men as they attempt to date each other while participating in various challenges.

The geeks assist the beauties in preparing for intellectual challenges, while the beauties help the geeks gear up for social skills tasks.

In a candid chat on his YouTube Channel, Alex shared his experiences and feelings about the show. Recalling his initial days on the show, he said: “We got our own secret nerd base. It was so good. We got a ping pong table, coaches, gaming stuff and we even had consoles like PS1, PS2 and that kind of thing,” reports the Mirror.

However, he confessed that they hardly got to use the equipment due to their packed filming schedule. Alex and partner Eliza faced numerous hurdles during their journey as they found themselves in the bottom three times.

He admitted that things ‘all fell apart’ during episode 11. During that episode, the Geeks were challenged to go on speed dates. He recalled: “It was like some sort of bar and we went from table to chair to meet six girls in total and there was a good variety of people.”

He went on to say: “Fast forward to the end of the episode and there is no prize on guessing who was in the losers’ contest for the fourth time and I just thought I can not deal with this anymore.”

Despite the challenges he faced, he made it to the final but despite ‘fighting so hard’ to win with Eliza they were voted out after 10 out of 14 contestants chose them to be eliminated.

Reflecting on the experience, he said: “I just think there were many other ways the finally could run and it did not need to rely on who you were friends with, but the journey itself was amazing.”

He concluded: “I got to meet a girl who I had nothing in common with and we did so much awesome stuff together, especially having to fight so hard for a place in the final really made me appreciate how well we complete each other’s skill sets.”
