Blue Peter legend snubbed a big-money offer to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing

Sarah Greene has snubbed a big-money offer to sign up for Strictly.

The TV legend isn’t keen to dance on live TV on Saturday nights. She told Daily Star Sunday: “I have been asked to do Strictly. But I’m a coward. I know that sounds weird because most of the things I’ve done have been live TV. But I like doing things where I can have some control.”

It’s not just Strictly that Sarah has turned down. The presenter isn’t keen on doing I’m A Celebrity or Celebrity Big Brother either.

She added: “I love watching reality shows. I would rather have hot needles in my eyes than do some of them.

“I know I’d scratch my nose at the wrong time and it would look like I was having a big pick!”

While Sarah won’t be doing a reality show any time soon, she’ll still be tuning in to watch a lot of them from the comfort of her sofa. She said: “I think it’s amazing that reality shows are called reality shows. Because we all know that they’re not.

“There’s a camera there. And as soon as that happens, it’s not actually real. Not really. It’s a version of real. It’s a drama. That’s why I love watching them.”

Sarah has been back on the box hosting game show The Finish Line alongside Roman Kemp.

The new series continues Monday at 4.30pm on BBC One.
