One Coronation Street favourite has hinted that love could be on the cards in the near future after a wild night of speed dating.
After Daisy Midgeley and Jenny Connor bought back the Rovers Return, the dynamic duo have been concocting ways to bring in business to the beloved pub. This week, fans will see the pair put on a speed dating event hosted by sexy single barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth.
The fiery redhead first joined the ITV cobbles back in 2022 and it didn’t take long before she became a favourite amongst viewers. Yet despite her bubbly personality and glamorous good looks, the singleton has always struggled to find love.

Now, actress Jodie Pregner has teased that love could be around the corner for the busty barmaid in the arms of an “unlikely suitor”. Speaking to Daily Star and other press, the TV star shared her hopes for her character over the next few months.
The 44-year-old actor told us: “I think she just wants to be loved by someone and she’s never met anyone to love her really. And I think she laughs and jokes about it but deep down it rips her apart.
“She jokes about the fellas, but she really wants to say, ‘Oh, I’d love to meet somebody’.” When she was asked what her character’s future holds, Jodie squealed: “I can safely say romance is on the cards.
“I don’t know who is more thrilled, Jodie or Glenda. So yes, romance is on the cards, but I can’t tell you who. Maybe he’s an unlikely suitor but it’s a really lovely story.”
The soap siren went on to shower the fans with praise after she recalled how viewers have shared their excitement for her character on the show. Jodie gushed: “One of the best things that Coronation Street still has today is that people genuinely care, and it is like being part of a big family.
“I always get asked, ‘Oh when will she find love’ and that’s lovely. It’s like your friends are there are just going, ‘Oh, are they ever gonna get you a nice fella’ and I love that. I really love that.”
Fans will have to stay tuned to see who the TV favourite will end up with on the famous cobbles. But her role on Coronation Street isn’t the only thing the actor has been working on.
Behind the scenes, the TV star recently returned to the stage in a concert version of Stephen Sondheim’s Gypsy, taking on the role of the formidable Mama Rose. The performance was in the name of a good cause with the proceeds going to the Hope Mill Theatre, a venue that is very close to Jodie’s heart.
Jodie was not the only soap star that took part, with several other famous faces sharing the stage with her. Fans will have to stay tuned to see the star show off her vocal skills as she welcomes in punters to the pub for the glamorous speed dating event.
