EastEnders’ Penny Branning had fans in hysterics following a rather awkward encounter with her dad Jack.
The character, played by Kitty Castledine, made her return to the BBC One soap this year. The daughter of Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) first appeared back in 2008 played by Mia McKenna-Bruce.
But for the chapter’s comeback, Kitty has taken on the role. And it’s fair to say Penny has caused plenty of drama since arriving back in Walford from France.

Penny rocked up with cousin Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) – who she ended up planting drugs on. The pair put things behind them and have settled into the square.
Penny has even taken over Whitney Dean’s stall on the famous market, following the soap icon’s exit. And during episodes this week, viewers got to see another, albeit, cheeky side to the character.
During Thursday’s instalment (June 27), which has already been made available on BBC iPlayer, the brand new Michell clan rocked up, consisting of Teddy and sons Harry and Barney. And it didn’t take long for Harry to catch the eye of Penny.
After a flirty exchange in the square, the pair met at the Vic later – only to end up going back to Penny’s. It was later revealed that the pair had slept together.
After their hook up, Penny showed Harry out – only for her dad Jack to leave his house next door at the same time. In the rather awkward scene, she told her she had to get a man in.
And it’s fair to say fans were left in tears over the cringe-inducing moment. Over on a Reddit thread, one fan said: “I liked Penny and Harry and also Jack’s reaction when he realised Penny had a mid day hook up was priceless.”
A second added: “She’s a Branning, what’s new.” Another penned: “Needed some pipes clearing – f*****g hell.”
A third fan replied: “Said to her own dad n all (who ain’t daft when it comes to sexual euphemisms)….” Someone else proclaimed: “Couldn’t help but laugh!”
EastEnders airs tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm
