Emmerdale fans fume as they ‘work out’ Tom’s next victim – but it’s not Belle

Emmerdale fans have “worked out” who Tom King will murder – but it’s not his wife Belle Dingle.

Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) thought she found her happy ending when she married Tom (James Chase) last month. But after the couple returned from their honeymoon, Tom’s coercive behaviour has only escalated.

Recent scenes have seen the villain try and sabotage Belle’s job, smash the urn containing her mother’s ashes, and put a tracker on Belle’s phone to keep an eye on her. Tom has managed to talk himself out of these situations, all while keeping Belle under his control.

During Wednesday’s episode (March 27) of the ITV soap, Tom arrived home from the vets with a dog named Piper. He explained to Belle that Piper’s elderly owner had died and he stopped their daughter from putting the pooch down.

Belle questioned what Tom planned on doing with the dog now that he’d brought her home. “Why, I thought that was obvious,” he told his wife.

Later in the episode, Tom made it clear he wanted to keep Piper with the hopes of Belle taking care of her. But she insisted they were both too busy to give Piper the love and attention that she needs.

Disregarding her new position at Take a Vow, Tom said: “I earn enough for us both, for all three of us. I got you Piper to cheer you up, come on how can you say no to this face?”

Belle remained firm on her decision as Tom fumed. Fans threatened to boycott the soap as they feared for Piper’s safety on social media.

One wrote: “I swear to god if Tom does something to Piper and make it seem like it’s Belle’s fault then I will go off!!! Don’t mess with the pooch!!!! Rehome rehome rehome!!”

“If anything happens to Piper the dog, I swear I’ll stop watching,” fumed a second. Another speculated: “Tom is so horrible he’ll let Belle get attached to the dog then do something to it to punish her.”

A fourth demanded: “Get out while you can Piper!!” Someone else declared: “Cute dog’s going in the river in a sack with some bricks now she doesn’t want it, then he’ll blame her.”
