Emmerdale fans are growing increasingly worried about Belle Dingle after working out that her fiancé Tom King Jr is “in disguise” – and not who he says he is.
Carl’s son Tom returned to the village last year and immediately rekindled his relationship with Belle. But there have been several red flags since then, with Belle ‘accidentally’ pushing Belle to the ground so she cut her face on the side of a table. Along with belittling her choices and undermining her, he’s criticised her wedding dress choice and effectively guilted her into marrying him.
In Tuesday’s episode (February 13), Tom was clearly furious that Belle doesn’t want to take his surname, and instead wants to remain a Dingle. During a discussion with Gabby, Belle was told King is a “better” choice, while Tom was clearly put out about the whole thing.

Now viewers are sure there’s something more going on than an abusive relationship, and it has something to do with one of Belle’s ex flames. Lachlan White was responsible for kidnapping her and murdering people around the village – and fans have pointed out he bears a striking resemblance to Tom.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – to share their thoughts, one viewer said: “Calling it now, Tom King is Lachlan back in disguise #Emmerdale.” They added a row of cry-laughing emojis before adding: “It’s not the wildest thing a soap has ever done!!”
A second fan then posted: “They do look alike as well! Lachlan’s ultimate revenge… getting Belle to marry him.” Someone else followed up: “Tom’s giving Carl vibes with a whole lot of Lachlan. Run Belle run.” Another said: “Tom King needs to read the Lachlan White Wiki entry.”
Later in the episode, Belle told Tom that if they ever have kids she’d want them to have the King name – and she also wants to change hers. She said: “There’s loads of Dingles, that name’s never going to die out. But yours might. And I want us to be a team.”
It comes as artificial intelligence ‘creative’ tool Bard AI revealed to Daily Star that Tom could “snap” on the duo’s wedding day. It revealed: “It is possible that Tom King could snap on his wedding day to Belle Dingle.” The system went on to highlight some possible triggers that could lead to his downfall.

Bard AI pointed out that feeling excluded or undermined have been triggers for the groom-to-be in the past. It argued: “If something happens at the wedding that makes Tom feel left out or disrespected, it could trigger a negative reaction.”
It added: “If Belle makes any last-minute decisions that go against Tom’s wishes, it could spark conflict. The presence of someone Tom dislikes or an unexpected event could lead to a loss of control. Unforeseen events like family dramas or confrontations with enemies could push him towards volatility.”
