Emmerdale fans have absolutely torn into a soap character and branded her the “most awful woman in the village.”
Tracy Metcalfe, played by Amy Walsh, rocked up in the Dales in 2014 and quickly became embroiled in the show’s drama.
She’s been at the centre of everything from cat fights to steamy affairs. Last year, Tracy got tangled in a saucy fling with Caleb Miligan (William Ash), which, as you’d expect from a soap opera, ended in fireworks.
But lately, it seems Tracy’s antics have really got under the skin of viewers. The return of Ella Forster (Paula Lane) to the soap has stirred things up again.
Soap buffs will remember that Ella landed in the Dales back in January with a dark past. At just 11 years old, she killed her best mate and ended up behind bars for the chilling crime, reports the Express.
In the village, she started a romance with the local doc, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). But when he discovered her child killer secret, he dumped her sharpish especially tough since his own daughter Leanna (Mimi Slinger) was murdered.
Ella legged it from the village in June after all the drama.
But last week, she made a bombshell return following a nasty car crash.
In the latest episodes, Tracy hasn’t minced her words about Ella, giving her a piece of her mind every chance she gets.
This has left fans seething, with one venting on Reddit: “Is Tracey the most awful woman in the village? “.
“Where does Tracey get off being holier than thou? She cheated on Nate with Caleb, in a cold and calculated affair. She’s binned Nate. Now, she’s attacking Ella.. why? “.
“How has Ella’s past got anything to do with her? She’s judging people, having a go at them… Tracey is VILE and they seriously shouldn’t have brought the actor back after maternity leave. I don’t see what she’s adding whatsoever,” the fan added.
Someone else wrote: “I hate her so much I skip when she’s on screen.”
A third penned: “I don’t even understand her venom with Ella. She’s committed enough of her own mistakes that she should realise that Ella hasn’t been that person in a long time, and even that was not an intentional murder.”
Another viewer defended Tracy as penned: “I like Tracy in small doses but she can be a bit loud at times. I like her and Vanessa as sisters and it’s funny how they are so different but then again they don’t grow up together.”
Someone else proclaimed: “The fact you feel so strongly about the character suggests the actress (Amy Walsh) is doing a great job.”
“Literally everyone in Emmerdale is a hypocrite. They all have done bad things whilst b******g at people for doing bad things. It’s how soaps work.”
