Fans of ITV’s The Chase were left fuming once again as they labelled the show “a con” while criticising the “dumbed down” questions.
Bradley Walsh was back on Friday (June 7) to host a very special episode which featured Dermot O’Leary, Lynsey Hipgrave, Kyle Walker and Alex Brooker. The special edition aimed to raise money for Soccer Aid and Unicef.
But fans of the popular quizzing programme were frustrated to see another celebrity repeat. They also seemed to think the questions were much easier on the celeb show and that chaser Anne Haggerty was letting the easy answers slip through her hands.

Taking to X, one social media user wrote: “Why is this a repeat? The money has already been won and paid so this is a con @itv.” Another said: “Dumbed down questions I’m off to pointless.”
A third chimed: “Went to the Kitchen for some tea…surprised when I came back to see three through…..the questions must have been so easeeeey….”
A fourth added: “It’s odd how the Chasers get more questions wrong on charity episodes.” While a fourth added: “Convenient wrong answer from the chaser.”
After the first three contestants went through to the final, it was time for Dermot to give the game a go. Despite having a fairly shaky start in his cash builder round, Dermot said it was only right he went for the higher offer.
Dermot also joined his teammates in the final after successfully getting through. A whopping £169,000 was in the kitty.
In the final, the team of four performed exceptionally, answering 21 questions correctly between them. When it was now time for Anne to catch them, she started off strong, however, she then failed to find her feet and got a number of questions wrong.
With only seconds remaining on the clock, Anne had her work cut out for her and failed to beat the team. But as the four celebs celebrated their victory, viewers were left speculating again.
One social media user said: “Tonight’s episode of #thechase is a prime example of why the charity editions are totally fixed. We wouldn’t want £169,000 NOT going to the #socceraid charity would we?”
While another said: “Won’t be watching the chase again, lost all credibility, soccer aid @ITV charity pure coincidence there’s been over £250,000 “won” this week. Absolute sham.”
