Gregg Wallace suggested his mother-in-law move into his home with wife Anne-Marie to “keep her sexy”.
The TV presenter has been accused by 13 people of making inappropriate sexual remarks across several shows over a 17-year period. He has stepped away from his role hosting MasterChef as the complaints against him are investigated.
Wallace has previously denied making inappropriate sexual comments and his lawyers told BBC News ‘it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature’. Wallace is also accused of groping individuals.

But Anne-Marie, Gregg’s fourth wife, has stayed by his side during the complaints scandal. The couple first connected on Twitter, now X, in 2013 when she asked him for help with a recipe.

She tweeted the food expert to ask if rhubarb went with duck after seeing him try the recipe on a cooking show. Gregg responded, they went for dinner, and the rest is history as they married in 2016.
Wallace described Anne-Marie, who at 38 is 22 years younger than him, as the “love of his life” but admitted he was worried about how people would perceive the large age gap at first. He said: “People look at you anyway and I felt really conscious because she was younger and I didn’t want people to judge her harshly”.

But in 2019, after they welcomed their son Sid, Gregg suggested his mother-in-law move in with them. He says he wanted his wife to have extra help so that she didn’t become “exhausted” and that she could stay “fun” and “sexy”.
He told Event Magazine: “When you fall in love with a younger woman, you’ve got to realise that the chances are they are going to want a family. I remember [her] saying to me, ‘I’m going to want to get married and have children. If that’s not what you want, then don’t mess me about’.

“I said: ‘Yes, I’m willing to have a baby with you, but a couple of provisos… I’m not willing to swap my fun, sexy girlfriend for an exhausted mum. We make enough money, I’d like you to get help in the house.’ Anna said ‘What about my mum?’ That was perfect.”
He explained his in-laws are hands-on with chores around the house and even take turns sleeping with Sid to help out. Gregg says he’s got a strong relationship with mother-in-law Rina, who is a similar age.

“Despite the unconventional arrangement, he has formed a tight-knit relationship with his mother-in-law Rina, who is close to him in age. “I love Rina – we have such a giggle. We are roughly the same age,” he revealed to The Sun.
“Me and Rina remember the same TV shows and sing the same 1970s pop songs. Anna doesn’t know what we are talking about. We were singing Boney M at breakfast this morning and Anna has no idea.”
