Haunting clip shows Michael Mosley’s last movements as cops say there’s ‘no trace’ of him

Haunting footage appears to showmissing Dr Michael Mosley just minutes after he’s thought to have hiked a coastal route.

The This Morning regular, 67, is understood to have disappeared on Wednesday (June 6) after he left St Nicholas Beach on the Greek island of Symi to walk back to the village of Pedi, where he was staying with his wife and two pals.

Stills from a CCTV video taken show Mr Mosley outside the Blue Corner Cafe, which is on Pedi Beach, at 1.52pm in the same clothes he was wearing at the time of his disappearance, holding an umbrella and wearing a cap.

The clip is believed to have been recorded 20 minutes after he is thought to have hiked a coastal route. Police fear he may have “fallen from a height” while walking along a rocky path that would have taken him from the beach back to Pedi.

Greek journalist Ionna Niaoti said on Talk TV: “It is understood that about 1.30pm local time, he said he was not feeling very well and he wanted to return home. So he went to a coastal path reaching the closest the village of Pedi, and this was the last time somebody saw him in Pedi.”

Search and rescue personnel have since been “combing” the island with a sniffer dog and drones deployed. A Symi local has also come forward to allege that they saw Dr Mosley standing at a bus stop in Pedi some 30 minutes after he was understood to have left St Nicholas Beach.

Greek police spokesman Constantina Dimoglidou said: “Any and every attempt to track him down has not produced any result. He may have slipped, tripped, fallen, even been bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere.”

They added to the Mail: “There is just no trace of him. None whatsoever. And that means that for us at least, every potential scenario is open and being investigated.”

Divers, drones and dogs have joined the search

Meanwhile, a woman in the area that Dr Mosley went missing said: “It’s a quiet place… if you see the map of the area it’s a clear path, it’s nothing dangerous, many people go every day, every few minutes, that’s the reason it’s very strange because it’s a clear path.”

Her thoughts were echoed by a friend of the person Dr Mosley was staying with. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drive show, she said: “It’s a road that sort of heads over the mountain side but it’s been recently widened and there is only one route, so it’s not possible to lose your way.

“So, it is probably a 20-minute walk down the side of the mountain, but it’s not overly rugged or something that would be seen to be too dangerous, it’s something that tourists do every day in the summer. I’m having trouble understanding how you could get lost.”
