Lucas’ sister Leah Barnes ( Elá-May Melek Demircan) asked Dillon Ray ( Nathaniel Dass) to speak to Lucas after noticed him struggling, but when Carter spotted the two boys together, he decided to guide them and said they must begin coaching the Year 7s in after-school football training.
During training, the pair grew close following a stumble and Dillon accused Lucas of wanting to kiss him, with Lucas storming off. Matters were made worse when Lucas’ dad Ste Hay (Kieron Richarson) and Leah teased the confused teen about his lack of love life, with Ste’s husband James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) stepping in to support him.
Lucas doesn’t accept Dillion’s apology following their altercation, and Dillon later confronts Lucas about his sexuality leading Lucas to run off as his emotions get the better of him. In chilling scenes, Carter told Lucas that if he doesn’t want to be like his dad, he must go the extra mile.
As the conversion therapy takes a dark turn, actors Oscar Curtis and Nathanial Dass, who play Lucas and Dillon, have opened up their hard-hitting storyline and who could be responsible for taking down the evil headteacher. Nathanial told Daily Star “Dillon could potentially. He’s one of a few because he’s come into the village and he’s not everyones best friend. He’s maybe going to create some enemy and he’s doing things people are not going to approve of.
“It might be Dillon, it might be John Paul [McQueen] or might be other people he comes into contact with. I think it will be really nice to see it as group effort.” Oscar added: “”It’s going to be a dark tunnel and there’s going to be a lot of potholes and stuff to trip Lucas up but Dillon is the light at the end of the tunnel for Lucas. It’s going to get to the point where people will see a different side of Lucas.”
Hollyoaks airs weeknights on E4 at 7pm followed by first-look episodes on Channel 4 streaming at 7.30pm
