A former I’m A Celebrity winner has ruled out taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.
Carl Fogarty, known to most as “Foggy” stormed to victory when he appeared on the 2014 edition of the jungle reality show. After a tough stint on the show, Carl was able to emerge as the King of the Jungle, beating out X Factor star Jake Quickenden and presenter Melanie Sykes in the final.
Now, with a new series of the BBC competition set to get underway in just a few week’s time, the World Superbike icon has shut down speculation he would take to the dancefloor. He insisted that he would never go on another reality show – but also made one exception for his beloved I’m A Celeb.

Speaking to Spin Genie, Carl insisted that there was “no chance” of him making his way onto Strictly. He added that he would not even be able to do the show, as he has problem with his legs and knees, that impede his walking and dancing abilities.
When asked if he would try another competition or reality show including Strictly or Dancing on Ice, Foggy had a simple answer. “No, I’ve been asked to do them over the years.
“No, you won’t see me in a pink leotard, throwing shapes around the dance floor. No chance! And I couldn’t do Dancing On Ice because I’ve got wobbly knees and dodgy legs from my bike days – I’ve done the main one and won that so I’ll quit now after that.”
He was also asked about his win, which saw the relatively unknown motorsport star come out on top. He reflected on his victory, but admitted he believed he would be the first celebrity to be booted out.
“I thought I’d be the first one out. To go the whole way and win, it was mad. I just fell to the floor when they announced me as ‘King of the Jungle.’ I thought: ‘Oh, my God. I’m just an ordinary lad from Blackburn.’
He went on to say that he would be tempted back to the jungle. “I would do [an All Stars version],” he added. “I don’t know why, but I’d love to go back.”
Elsewhere, Carl admitted that he found it “cringey” when he saw his daughter Claudia appear on the latest winter series of fellow ITV show Love Island. The star appeared in series 9 of the show, making it all the way to the sixth week of the programme before being dumped.
Looking back at the stint she had on the show, dad Carl said that it was hard to watch her struggle, but she insisted on going on the show so that it could help her career. He went on to say that he still gets tetchy just thinking of her time in the villa.
“She went in hoping it would help her career really and give her something to do and it has done really, so, it kind of works from that point of view,” he confessed. “But to be honest it was a bit cringy watching it! It wasn’t great!”
