ITV The Chase’s Bradley Walsh halts show and forced to apologise over ‘unforgivable’ comment

The Chase’s Bradley Walsh was forced to apologise to a viewer at home – after a contestant made a savage comment about them.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Tuesday (January 2) as telly legend Bradley welcomed four new quizzers. As fans tuned in for the primetime programme, he introduced contestants Harry, Alex, Patricia and Rachel before they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.

This week the quartet were up against Paul Sinha who made sure to bring his A-game against the wise quizzers. But things took an awkward turn when Bradley and a player appeared to take a swipe at someone watching at home.

Alex was quizzed on what he would do with the money, if he won the show. He said: “I want to take Nan to Blackpool.”

Bradley had to apologise

The player then revealed that he wanted to take his nan, Eileen there as it’s where she spent her honeymoon with his grandad. He added: “So I want to take her to the Tower Ballroom and have a little fox trot.”

Bradley then asked: “Would you take her on any of the rides?” Alex replied: “Her teeth might come out. Sorry nan!”

The host then quipped: “Here’s a tip, take the teeth out, and put them in the bag before you get on the ride.” As the audience laughed, Alex added: “Yeah, she’ll never forgive me.”

He then issued his apology to his nan, who was watching at home, and said: “Sorry nan.” Bradley then halted the show and also said: “Yeah sorry man, sorry Eileen.”

Bradley was back to front the show

Sadly, Alex failed to reach the final as during his head-to-head he was caught by the chaser. Third player Patricia was also booted from the show. This meant it was just Harry and Rachel in the final. And the duo were playing for a whooping £100,000.

Harry and Rachel managed to get 16 questions correct. And sadly, the chaser caught them with 16 seconds remaining.
