Jennifer Lopez’ wedding ring had awkward three-word message from Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck engraved a sweet message onto Jennifer Lopez’s £4.3million engagement ring two years before their split.

The former Hollywood power couple delighted fans when they rekindled their romance in 2021. It’s fair to say their whirlwind relationship moved lightning fast when the former Batman star popped the question one year later.

But after two years of marriage, the former flames decided to go their separate ways, with the Jenny from the Block hitmaker, 55, reportedly filing for divorce this week. But what fans may be surprised to know is that the 52-year-old actor had a special message engraved into the star’s ring before he popped the question.

The dad-of-three gifted her a stunning 8.5 carat green cushion-cut diamond ring with a platinum band with the phrase “not going anywhere” engraved into the band. During an appearance on Apple Music Zane Lowe’s show back in November 2022, she recalled the meaning behind the sweet message stamped into her ring.

She told the broadcaster that the phrase was “how [Ben] would sign his emails when we started talking again. “Like, ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere’,” she added.

But after months of split rumours, the mum-of-two filed for divorce from Affleck without a lawyer on their second wedding anniversary this Tuesday (August 20). She cited August 20, 2024 as the date of filing and lists the date of their separation as April 26, 2024.

Despite officially tying the knot on July 16, 2022, the couple celebrated with a grand and traditional wedding ceremony on August 20, 2022. According to TMZ, the documents do not specify whether there is a prenup in place for Bennifer, but sources claim that the couple did not sign one when they exchanged vows.

The outlet claims if there is no prenup agreement in place, any earnings the former couple have made would be considered community property. It is understood Lopez waivered spousal support and requested the court not give Affleck any either, according to the publication.

This marks Jennifer’s fourth failed marriage and Ben’s second. The star’s sparking rock will be added to her already impressive collection of five engagement rings throughout her life, raising the value to over $17million (£13million).

She still has the pink diamond ring Ben gave her 20 years ago, as well as the rings she has collected from former husbands Marc Anthony, Cris Judd and Ojani Noa. Jennifer also has an engagement ring from Alex Rodriguez, whom she never married.

But out of all of them, her most expensive ring is still the $6.5million (£4.9million) diamond ring form Anthony. One huge asset the former couple will need to settle on is their Beverly Hills mansion which they bought last year.

The pair put their enormous home up for sale for a staggering $60.5million (£50million) in June. It boasts 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms in addition to the new renovations they made throughout their marriage.

The home in the Southern California neighbourhood was relisted for $68million (£52.7million) last month after the work they had done on the property. Want all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? Sign up for our free Daily Star Showbiz newsletter
