Kerry Katona hit by career setback as Atomic Kitten eyes up reunion without her

Natasha Hamilton has hinted at a possible Atomic Kitten reunion – but one famous member won’t be involved.

The beloved girl group reached No1 in the UK back in 2001 with their single Whole Again. And now in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the mum-of-five has hinted that the group would love to get back on stage again in the future.

The 42-year-old songstress, who performed for Manchester’s Pride weekend, explained that she will “never say never” to a reunion later on down the line. When asked if fans could expect a reunion tour in the future, she gushed: “Never say never, who knows what could bring us back together?

“I really hope it would be something really wonderful, so you’ll just have to wait and see. The door is always open.”

The star went on to add which members she would love to return to the group – and notably forgot to mention one of her former bandmates Kerry Katona. She explained: “I’d love to do something again with myself, with Liz [McClarmon] and with Jen [Frost]. Who knows?

“The door’s always open for Jen to come back whenever she wants.” Kerry quit the band in 2001 after falling pregnant with her first child with her then-husband Brian McFadden.

Kerry was then replaced by Jenny, with the group continuing to make music as a trio before they disbanded in 2004. Looking back over their nationwide success, Natasha shared some of her wild fan experiences over the years.

She told us: “Back in the day you’d be in a hotel and you’d get a knock on the door thinking it was room service and there was just three random people screaming in your face, and you’re thinking, ‘Okay. You need to leave now’.

“I think there was a bit more frenzy back then but I still meet people and they go crazy. It feels weird to be honest because I’m just Tash.” The Celebrity Big Brother star went on to add that she has received her fair share of proposals in the past.

She chuckled: “I’ve had a few ‘will you marry me?’ signs held up in the audience but not for a long time now. I’ve also signed cigarettes back in the day, put my signature on a ciggy, that was interesting.

“People have had the old Atomic Kitten logo tattooed on them which was mental, with the signatures as well,” before insisting: “But don’t do that, please don’t do that.”

Last year, the hitmaker launched her solo career and even debuted her first single at the Manchester Pride Festival. Speaking about her performance on the Main Village Stage at Manchester Pride, the songstress gushed: “I did Manchester Pride years ago, like a long time ago, but it just hits different when you get to perform your own music.

“These are stories of my life, and I’m not just writing generic songs. My music has been about what I’ve been through and my experiences, so I’m so glad that everyone loves them.”

She went on to reveal that her former bandmate Jenny was watching on from the crowd. Natasha added: “Jenny was in the pit today literally sobbing, I couldn’t even look at her at one point. She was so proud.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see what the musician will get up to next.
