Kerry Katona’s surprise baby news after saying fiancé could ‘leave’ to have kids

Kerry Katona has hinted that she might have another baby.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 43, already has five children from former relationships and recently said that her fiancé Ryan Mahoney had a “pass” to leave her if he wanted to have a baby of his own. But she’s now revealed that a scan showed she could still add to her brood if she wanted to – and it seems she is game.

The star underwent the scan after a cancer scare, and later wrote in OK! magazine: “When I went for my scan last week and got the all-clear, I was told that I’ve still got follicles – meaning I could have another baby. I don’t think I would have another one, but Ryan keeps changing his mind!

“If he wants another one then that’s fine, but we need to get a move on,” she added. However, Kerry said that if the pair do decide to have a baby together, she probably wouldn’t carry it herself but would use a surrogate after going through a “traumatic birth” when she had DJ, who is her youngest child, in 2014.

The star is already a mum of five

Kerry met Ryan on the dating app Bumble in 2018 and they are set to wed. But she has previously said that she would not stand in his way if he wants to move on and have a baby with someone else.

She said in OK! earlier this year: “I don’t want to deprive him – in fact, I’ve given him a pass and said, ‘If this is something you want to pursue leave me now!’ I never want someone to not have that feeling of having their own child.”

Will Kerry have another baby?

Kerry is mum to daughters Molly, 22, and Lilly-Sue, 21, with Westlife singer Brian McFadden, who she was married to from 2002 to 2006. She shares daughter Heidi, 17, and son Max, 15, with her ex hubby Mark Croft, who she was with from 2007 to 2011. And she had DJ with George Kay, who died in 2019 following an overdose.

The star has previously told how she had a tough time when she gave birth to DJ, whose real name is Dylan-Jorge. Talking to OK! in 2016, she said the baby “nearly died” when she was born and that she also suffered complications herself.

The doctors had to revive her when she came out,” Kerry shared. “I was losing loads and loads of blood, my placenta burst and had to be removed.”
