Following the repatriation of his body from Argentina to the UK, Liam Payne’s family has arranged for his funeral to take place in his hometown of Wolverhampton this week.
However, due to the singer’s high profile, the ceremony will be a private affair, restricted to those closest to him. As a result, his family has had to carefully compile a guest list, and it is expected that Liam’s manager, Roger, will not be invited.
This decision comes as an investigation into Roger’s potential involvement in Liam’s death continues. Roger was with Liam at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires shortly before his passing.
A source revealed to The Sun: “Liam’s family want his funeral to go off without a hitch and right now opinions are strained when it comes to Roger. It’s true he and Liam had a bond but he’s never been popular when it comes to Liam’s wider circle.”
The relationship between Liam and Roger was complex, with both business and personal aspects, and the two had previously had a falling out.Although they appeared to have reconciled before Liam’s trip to Latin America, those close to the singer were reportedly unaware of their reconnection.
“There is a difference in the narrative, Roger would say he stepped back from working with Liam – others would say he was pushed,” an insider said. Meanwhile, Roger vehemently denies any ties to the late star’s passing.
