Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar appeared on BBC Breakfast and teased the return of the police drama.
The actor chatted to BBC hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt who quizzed him on the possible comeback of the much-loved series. The official X account for the show shared a clip from their conversation online to spread the word.
The account captioned the clip: “‘We’d love to’ Actor Adrian Dunbar – aka Superintendent Ted Hastings – spoke to #BBCBreakfast about whether the hit police drama ‘Line of Duty’ could return”

In the video Naga quizzed the actor on whether it could be coming back to get some insider intel – but he claimed he was none the wiser. Naga said: “Yeah, I’m just gonna ask it. I think most of the cast is keen for another one – but you haven’t heard any news?”

Adrian responded: “Yeah, I mean, it was Vicky [McClure] who text me yesterday saying ‘I’m about to do loads of press for Trigger Point but I know the only thing I’ll be asked is are we about to do Line of Duty again?’
“And the answer to that is we don’t know, we’d love to, because the last time we did it, it was in lockdown. And so we kind of couldn’t get out, we couldn’t have fun.

“So we were kind of robbed of the experience of working together again. And so we’d really like to do it again. But you know, at the moment, we don’t know.”
A fan commented underneath: “It was a great programme, but like all series based on a conspiracy they run their course because there is only so long you can keep the plot going. Watching it back from the start you realise it slowly became more fantastical.”
