One Love Island star says she is ready to return to her day job after finding fame in the ITV villa – despite having an earning potential of millions from social media.
Mimii Ngulube is set to take on the Majorcan paradise this year, and if she makes the final, a month’s worth of social media work could earn her – on average – £296,400 per month, according to ThinkMonkey. Finalists can charge around £17,435 per post on their Instagram pages.
Chatting to Daily Star and other press, Mimii explained: “I would like to go back to my job eventually. Right now I’m just living in the moment, but with the mental health stuff my goal was to become a therapist. That’s something I’ll revisit later – I’m still young so I can still go back and do that when I’m ready. Right now I’m just taking every day as it comes.”

She explained that her career in mental health might give her an advantage when it comes to dealing with fame from the show – and Mimii is definitely prepared to take up any aftercare on offer. She said: “I wouldn’t say I’m more prepared than most people [despite my job] because I’ve obviously not been in this situation before, so I don’t know how I’m gonna really navigate it.
“I’ll definitely use all the aftercare available because it does help – I’ve seen it does help. Talking always helps in some way or another. I think I have more of an inkling on how it would improve things, because obviously not everyone is going to want to take therapy and not everyone would think to, but for me definitely – I’ll take that!”
The star, who hails from Portsmouth, also explained she’s ready to take time out to think things through before rushing into any drama. Mimii said: “For me, before I make any rash decisions I need to take a time out. Evaluate the situation, talk to someone I trust or one of the producers in there, just to make sure I heard what I heard correctly and that I’m not going mad!
“Then from there I’ll have the conversation… I like to avoid conflict anyway. I want to make sure my head is clear before I approach any situation.”

Asked how she’ll deal with liars or game players, she said: “I have such a good gut instinct. If I have an inkling [about someone] I’ll make sure I watch them more intensely. I’m hoping that’s not going to be the case, but if I’m worried about anything I’ll definitely talk to them about it. I don’t like sitting in the dark about things, it makes me uneasy.”
