Marvel star and WWE icon shows off major body transformation for new film

A Marvel star has flaunted his dramatic weight loss after completely altering his body for a new film.

Dave Bautista left fans stunned when he showed off his new look for the upcoming movie that is about to hit screens worldwide. However, this comes as a huge shock to Dave himself, who admitted he is the lightest he has been in nearly forty years.

The actor first found fame when he starred as a professional wrestler, making his way to the WWE tour. Since his stint as a pro, Dave is sharpening his acting chops and is gearing up for a completely different role in his latest project The Killer’s Game.

With the film hitting cinemas in North America first, Dave walked down the red carpet during the Toronto Film Festival on Friday (September 6). Though Dave was seeing the premiere of another film, The Last Showgirl, fans were left in awe at his dramatic weight shift.

In total, Dave admitted that he has lost a total of four stone since 2022, which now makes him the lightest he has been since he was 19 – back in 1990. Speaking to Youtube star Chris van Vliet about the drive to drop the pounds, he said: “I’m getting super trimmed.”

In the interview, the hunky star said that he had begun to lose weight in the wake of his blockbuster success Knock At the Cabin. Directed by acclaimed director M. Night Shyamalan, the thriller landed Dave with a slew of nods for his work, and since then, he has been determined to shed the pounds for a new project.

He has since admitted that his weight is so light now that he weighed more when his wrestling career took off, back when he was competing under the alias of Deacon Batista. Looking back at his weight journey, he said: “The heaviest I’ve ever been is 370lbs (26st), when I started Deacon, I was about 325lbs (23st).

“Throughout most of my wrestling career I was about 290lbs (21st) – now I’m about 240lbs (17st)” he said. “And I went a year and a half ago for Knock at the Cabin, I went 315lbs (23st). And that’s when the nightmare started.”

As he has gotten older, the 55-year-old has adorned his body with numerous tattoos that now cover his entire torso. Amongst those included on the movie star’s body are the Filipino and Greek flags, as a tribute to the WWE legend’s heritage.

The star had a rough upbringing, finding himself in trouble for the likes of skipping school and stealing things, which resulted in him being sent to juvenile hall. Having grown up in poverty and in a rough neighbourhood, he was determined to turn his life around and used wrestling and fitness as a means to do so.

In his 30s, the star entered the pro wrestling circuit, becoming a four-time World Heavyweight Champion. But after his stint in the ring, he decided to add another string to his bow and brush up on his acting skills.

He shot to international stardom when he appeared in blockbuster hit Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. He also starred in Avengers: Endgame, which was the second-highest grossing film of all time back in 2019.
