P Diddy tried to make his own TV show but series mysteriously disappeared

One of P Diddy’s biggest projects disappeared off the face of the earth.

Back in 2015, NME reported that Diddy was “working on a South Park-inspired cartoon with King Of The Hill writer”. The series, titled Brightmoor, was reportedly set in inner-city Detroit with a story revolving “around the African American pupils at Brightmoor Elementary”.

King Of The Hill writer Chip Hall and comedian Chris Powell were reported to be on board with the project, while Diddy was set to executive produce through his Revolt Films company.

Brightmoor was reportedly meant to air on FX once it was fully developed. Diddy, real name Sean Combs, has appeared on South Park multiple times throughout the years with his most iconic appearance during the Vote Or Die campaign.

Brightmoor was supposed to be inspired by South Park

The media was buzzing with the announcement of Diddy’s Brightmoor project back in 2015, with the likes of Billboard, NME, The Verge, The Independent and CBS all reporting on the news. However, since then nothing more has been heard about the development of the show.

One Reddit post made around the time of the announcement featured an excited Diddy fan who gushed over the anticipated series. They wrote: “There is a unique chance here to give a real honest depiction of the true Detroit that is neither positive nor negative, but just accurate and with the perk of being funny too.”

“I live in Brightmoor, there’s many great stories to tell in this community. Let’s hope the creators make the best of this opportunity.” With no update in almost a decade, it is assumed that the South Park inspired project was scrapped.

One South Park clip has been circulating the internet after recent allegations made against the rapper. He was arrested on 16 September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, allegations which he “categorically denies”.

Diddy was known for his elaborate Hollywood parties and in one South Park episode, Satan attempts to throw a party – however, Diddy trumped all of his ideas a few years earlier.

The devil quips: “Oh, screw that then. I don’t want a fondue fountain if P Diddy had one,” which caused fans of the show to discuss the topic of the rapper’s famous parties. One person wrote: “Even Satan doesn’t want to do what Diddy did.”
