Despite being a Hollywood icon, Pedro Pascal found his character killed off within minutes in a new 2024 movie.
The Last of Us star plays an unnamed penis collector – and yes, that is just as strange as it seems – in 2024 release Drive Away Dolls, a comedy thriller following two best friends who take a road trip to Florida together. But things quickly start to go wrong when they discover a mysterious briefcase in the trunk of their borrowed car, and soon gangsters are on their tail.
The film features some pretty big names, including Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein, Hollywood icon Matt Damon, and even Flowers hitmaker Miley Cyrus. Its protagonists Jamie and Marian are played Margaret Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan – and poor Pedro finds his character quickly dispatched within the first scene.

The movie digs into the raunch factor of hits like Poor Things and Saltburn, featuring several on-screen instances of oral sex, nudity and plenty of group snogging. In one scene, the main characters even end up taking turns snogging a high school girls’ soccer team – interspersed with hilarity throughout, of course.
Put simply, Pedro plays the collector of busts modelled from celebrity penises, who is trying his best to squirrel away his goods – until his efforts are stymied in a brutal alleyway scene which sees him decapitated in a truly gruesome way.
Filmmakers had to pitch the cameo role to Pascal, who was “totally into it”. Director Ethan Coen explained: “He’s only there briefly, but his head made it into lots of scenes after he left us. I sent him a picture of [actor] Dirk Bogarde: perfectly groomed, except for the little lock of hair bouncing on his forehead. I told Pedro he was the suave guy, and he said, ‘OK, I understand.’”
Coen went on to explain that as Pedro was fully booked and shooting another movie at the time: “He had to have his head cast remotely. He Zoomed in and auditioned faces that this guy might have made when he was having his head cut off.”
The cast also found the effects hilarious, with Geraldine admitting he has a “beautiful head”. She added in an interview with Mashable: “I’ve never met Pedro, but I’m such a fan.” While Qualley joked: “But you’re intimately connected. You never met him, but you touched him.”

Geraldine went on: “I just remember walking into the make-up trailer, and they were touching up his head, and that was our only interaction with him really.” While Margaret said: “Well, Pedro’s everywhere. You look up, it’s Pedro fever.”
