Phillip Schofield seemed to be in high spirits in a rare snap post on social media.
It’s been over a year since the 62-year-old left ITV in the wake of his explosive affair with a younger, male colleague on This Morning. The former This Morning host went off radar for months following the scandal.
However, he’s since returned to social media, where he posts a lot of photos of his beloved dog Alfie. And on Monday (August 5), he shared a smiling selfie from a sunflower field – dubbing it his “new happy place”.

He opted for a blue t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses during his trip to the countryside. Captioning the snap shared on Instagram, Phil wrote: “What a find!!! New happy place.”
He was supported by his former co-stars such as Rochelle Humes, who ‘liked’ the post, and Alice Beer, who commented: “Gorgeous”. Phil, who has limited comments on his post since his ITV exit, has found support from a number of his TV pals following his affair scandal.
The likes of ITV presenters Rylan Clark and Kate Garraway have ‘liked’ his Instagram photos. And it’s rumoured Alison Hammond and I’m A Celebrity stars Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly support the idea of Phil returning to TV.
It appears the presenter is starting to return to public life, having attended the British Grand Prix with his wife Stephanie Lowe and their two daughters. He was also spotted smiling with Dec on a night out.
He returned from his online hiatus in May, and last month posted a snap of his dog as he celebrated England making it to the Euro 2024 final. It’s been said Phillip is ready to make his TV comeback after the ITV saga, but he is yet to confirm this is the case.
It’s reported that Alison Hammond, who was tearful over Phil’s exit on This Morning, supports his potential TV return. “Since he left This Morning, Phil has been held up by the support of friends like Ant, Dec and Alison Hammond. Phil is still shell-shocked by everything that happened last year and is happy at the moment to focus on rebuilding his life with the support of his friends and family.”
