Phillip Schofield has been teasing fans with a glimpse into his chilled life after his TV exit.
He posted a snap of his adorable new puppy Alfie with the caption “loving life” on his Instagram story. The 61-year-old telly veteran, who stepped back from the limelight in 2023 amidst a whirlwind of personal drama involving an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair and a fallout with his once close mate Holly Willoughby, is rumoured to be eyeing up a major TV return.
After their on-screen partnership crumbled, Holly stuck with This Morning for a bit longer, whereas Phillip cut ties with ITV altogether. Now, as things seem to have cooled off, the ex-Dancing on Ice presenter is dipping his toes back into the social media waters, sharing the occasional update about his four-legged friend.

His latest Insta story features Alfie having a ball in a paddling pool, basking in glorious 26-degree heat, with Phillip adding: “Loving life,” clearly enjoying the sunshine vibes.
While there’s no concrete news on his TV resurgence just yet, a recent sighting of Phillip with Declan Donnelly has sparked whispers that he might be plotting a redemption arc Down Under. Dec, alongside Ant, hosts the jungle-based reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in Oz, fuelling speculation that Schofe could be looking to spruce up his image by braving the Aussie outback.
After Phillip owned up to his cheeky fling with a younger workmate last year, he saw his name dragged through the mud. The telly host kept it on the down-low, steering clear of Twitter and Insta.
Phillip’s TV pal Lorraine spilled to The Sunday Times Magazine not long ago: “I was heartbroken when all that happened. It’s just a shame for the amazing career that he’s had, for it to end like that.”
PR expert Edward Coram James also shared his opinion to the Mirror and the crisis guru said: “It’s hardly surprising that Schofield is now considering a comeback, and that producers and networks may be lining up to make him job offers. There are many ways that Schofield could have reacted that could have cemented his fate for the worse. Instead, his behaviour during and after the scandal is a textbook example of how people should act in the face of PR disaster. It’s a feat that very few manage to pull off. But it’s given Schofield the opportunity for a second chance.”
