Piers Morgan sides with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after ‘valid’ Kate Middleton point

Piers Morgan has shockingly shown support for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Amidst the controversy over a doctored photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Piers hasn’t shied away from offering his thoughts about William, even hinting that he might be “trying to cover something up” in the ongoing Kate-gate saga.

On Wednesday (March 13) night, the presenter shared that he’d “been told some” things which he isn’t sure are true, but if they are, “it’s pretty alarming what is happening” with the Royal Family.

In an unexpected turn of events, meanwhile, Piers even agreed with a comment made by Harry and Meghan’s team during his latest broadcast, having often criticised the pair in the past.

Discussing Kate seemingly apologising for editing an image shared over the weekend to mark Mother’s Day, Piers revealed that he has also heard from sources how the Sussexes feel about the scandal. On his YouTube show Uncensored, 58-year old Piers said he’s heard that their team team believe “all hell would have broken loose” if the Duke and Duchess had made such an embarrassing mistake and released a doctored image.

Piers agreed, saying, “If they have said that, it’s a perfectly valid point.” The ex-Good Morning Britain star chatted about Kate’s Mother’s Day mix-up on his show on Wednesday night, and showed clips from US television where Americans were discussing William and Kate’s lives, reports the Mirror.

After playing a snippet from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the funnyman pokes fun at the Royals, Piers told his viewers: “He [Colbert] then went on to make some extraordinary claims about William and Kate’s marriage, which I won’t repeat.”

Then, his viewers saw another clip where British comedian John Oliver says on an American programme, “There’s a non-zero chance Kate Middleton died 18 months ago.” And to show how much the Mother’s Day photo mistake is being talked about in the States, they even played a clip from a White House press office natter about the dodgy edit.

“Was it actually taken last week? ” Piers wondered as he had a look at the snap himself. “They say so but can we believe that? If it was so awful [it needed editing] why not release one of the other photos from the archives they never released,” he said to his watchers.

He then questioned: “Why is Princess Catherine, who is getting better from tummy surgery, bending over photoshop to do rough edits of official snaps when they’ve got staff for that sort of thing. And the most puzzling thing, why not fix the missing wedding ring?”

Piers went on to share his thoughts, saying he feels “enormous personal sympathy for the family” right now, especially as King Charles is dealing with a cancer diagnosis. He then added: “Kate needs a break, I agree, but it was their decision to release this photograph and it’s led to even more conspiracy theories.”
