One of Ruth Langsford ‘s Loose Women co-stars has broken her silence on her split from Eamonn Holmes.
Ruth, 64, made her return to the ITV panel show after two months off following her divorce from the broadcaster. The pair, having been married for 14 years, were together for nearly three decades and had become known as one of the most recognisable pairs on TV.
But in May, Eamonn and Ruth released a joint statement saying that they were calling time on their marriage. Northern Irishman Holmes, also 64, was left “blindsided” by the announcement – but threw himself into his work, appearing for his GB News programme just two days after the split was made public.

Loose Women anchor Ruth, however, took a different approach and took time away from the ITV show, as well as her QVC shopping show to deal with the breakup. Now, one of Ruth’s co-stars has come forward to give her take on the situation.
Linda Robson, 66, told OK! magazine that the former weather presenter was keeping herself in “high spirits” during the breakdown of her marriage to Eamonn. She went on to say that it was a “sad” situation for the pair to go through, but Ruth is being supported by her Loose Women pals.
“We’re staying out of it because it’s not our business, but we’re supporting her in any way we can and just keeping her happy,” she told the magazine. “It’s sad for the both of them but just keeping her spirits high.”
Birds of a Feather star Linda is no stranger to how Ruth is feeling, having ended things with her husband of 33 years Mark Dunford late last year. But despite her tentative return to the show, Ruth has announced that she would be taking another break from the panel show.
Having only returned to the show last Tuesday (July 23), Ruth was announced to be taking some time away from the show. A source close to the programme said: “Ruth is on a longstanding holiday that’s been in the diary for a long time.”
Making her comeback last month, Ruth was seen still wearing her wedding ring following the split from her husband. Ahead of her return to the show, Langsford insisted she would not be commenting on the situation when the cameras went live, instead focusing on the panel show’s usual topics and reading from the autocue.
Eamonn and Ruth were titans of daytime TV, hosting This Morning up until 2021, but their relationship soon took a turn and they were last papped together in 2022. Since the split, Holmes has been seen being comforted by blonde bombshell and relationship counselor Katie Alexander, 42.
The pair first made connections through Twitter nearly a decade ago in 2015, and became closer towards the end of Eamonn’s marriage to Ruth. After moving into a central London pad, Katie was papped going into Holmes’ new abode.
