Saturday Kitchen guests floored as star claims presenter Matt Tebbutt needs cooking lessons

Saturday Kitchen star Matt Tebbutt was told he needs cooking lessons during the latest instalment of the BBC programme.

On Saturday (February 3), the presenter and celebrity chef welcomed a number of guests into the studio, including comedians Tom Allen and Suzi Ruffel as well as chef Dina Macki.

Her first time on Saturday Kitchen, Dina whipped up some traditional dishes from Zanzibar, where her family relocated from. As podcast host Suzi praised Dina’s social media content and the food she creates, Matt joked: “First time on the show and you’ve already got celebrity mates already.”

As Dina was dishing up, she reminded Matt hadn’t removed the lamb from the oven. Dina joked: “You’re not doing you’re job Matt!”

“I’m sure your grandmother will have something to say about that,” he said as he carried the meat over. Dina agreed, confessing her grandma often watches Matt and “makes a lot of comments” about him.

The food writer laughed: “She’s always watching what Matt’s up to. She doesn’t think he does it right a lot of the time.” Podcast host Suzi covered her face as her co-star gasped in shock.

“But she loves you,” Dina insisted. She claimed her grandma, known as Bibi, wants to give Matt some cooking lessons. Matt responded: “There’s a lot going on here Bibi.” He demanded: “Bring her in!” But Dina admitted there could be a problem with bringing her grandma on the show.

“She’s got a bit of a foul mouth though,” she explained. “We might have to put her on mute.” Elsewhere on the show, viewers were left retching over Rick Stein’s recipe which involved sausage guts.

The restauranteur, 77, headed to France and met a champion sausage maker, deciding to try his prized dish made from offal. Despite it being “a bit whiffy”, the chef admitted the meal was “actually gorgeous” and paired perfectly with champagne.

Viewers weren’t so impressed and headed straight to X, formerly Twitter, to comment on the “disgusting” dish. One declared “Rick… It’s dog food at best mate. #saturdaykitchen.”

“Dear God, andouillette looks disgusting. #SaturdayKitchen,” claimed another. A third agreed: “Pass on Rick’s smelly sausage things. I like to try new foods but will leave that one pass by!”
