It’s bad news for Nick Knowles.
The DIY SOS star has been dealt a crushing blow just days into the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, where he’s partnered up with show pro Luba Mushtak. Alongside Arsenal footy legend Paul Merson, he’s been given the joint lowest odds of lifting the Glitterball Trophy.
It seems the bookies reckon Nick will be one of the first celebs sent packing from the BBC ballroom. The poor presenter has barely had a chance to show off his moves, yet, and will make his official dancefloor debut on Saturday (September 21), the first live show which is also his birthday.

According to Betway, it’s JLS star JB Gill who is the favourite to win the show. He’s got odds of 7/2 and is closely followed by Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, who has odds of 9/2.
X Factor singer Shayne Ward gets third place, with 11/2 odds. EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick sits in fourth with 7/1 after winning Strictly’s Christmas Special last year.
But Nick has been given just 66/1 odds on bagging the Glitterball. And additional odds from Betfair saw Nick slip to 100/1 after the launch show.
Betway spokesperson Chad Yeomans said: “Strictly already looks to promise all the glitz and glam as it marks its 20th anniversary as one of the nation’s favourite television shows. Now the celebrities and professionals are matched up and the training begins, JB Gill is the new favourite to take home the prize alongside Amy Dowden, who was absent from last year’s show.
“Closely behind in second to snap up the prize is Love Island star, Tasha Ghouri, at 9/2 to quickstep her way to the final and win the glitterball. X Factor winner Shayne Ward sits third favourite to win his second talent show, while Eastenders actor and winner of the 2023 Strictly Christmas Special, Jamie Borthwick, sits fourth with odds of 7/1.”
Strictly will air for 14 weeks up until its live final on December 14. Judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse have all returned to the panel.
