A fan favourite has returned to the Strictly Come Dancing lineup – and this is what their former partner thinks.
Sara Davies has commented on Aljaž Škorjanec’s return to the show after being paired with him in 2001. This comes as many stars come out of the woodwork to share their negative experiences from the series.
However, Dragons Den star Sara has spoken out to confirm her experience was far from the likes of Amanda Abbington’s. Sara spoke exclusively to the Daily Star, after her new Avon UK appointment.

Talking about Aljaž coming back to the programme, she said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that Aljaž has gone back, when he told me about it a few weeks ago, I was so excited for him. I think it was the right time for him to leave when he did.
“He had huge aspirations to move out to the country with Janette and start a family. And I know first-hand how hard it is if you’ve got two working parents and juggling childcare, and we do it with two sets of grandparents on hand.
“So I really appreciate that he was prepared to put his career on hold so that they could have a family, and that Janette could still have her career and follow her dreams. He was so excited about having a family, and I’m just really happy that they’ve fulfilled that ambition. They’ve moved out to the country.
“Their baby is a toddler now and they can juggle childcare. I’m really excited that they came and asked him, because I think nobody wanted him to leave. Now is a different time in his life and he’s so ready to come back.”
Sara also commented on how much she rated him as a trainer and how she owed her experience to him. She added: “As a trainer and mentor, he was absolutely off the chart.
“I think the reason I had such a phenomenal experience is because his whole raison d’etre on the show was me having an amazing time. I felt I was never going to be a contender to get to the final or the semis. I just wanted to make the most of the time that I had.
“So he put all of his energy into making sure I enjoyed every minute. I loved all the time that we had in the rehearsal room, and because we were up North, and I had to fit around my schedule, we had to work really funny hours. Whatever I needed, he used to be there with a big smile on his face ready for a cup of coffee at six o’clock on a morning when we got going. It was just fabulous. It was honestly one of the happiest times of my life.”
We also spoke Sara about her new Avon appointment, as she was named the cosmetics brand’s first Chief Inspiration Officer. She added: “It’s a such a great opportunity to work with new and existing Avon Reps who have the hunger to build and run their own business, on their own terms.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to share my passion for entrepreneurship. And as part of the role, I’m mentoring Avon Reps and offering tailored advice on how to be their own boss, grow their businesses and also lead a team. I’ve already met and worked with lots of Avon Reps and Leaders across the UK. I’m honestly so inspired and impressed by their smart thinking and perseverance – so many are building talented teams with some earning six-figure salaries.”
